God, Himself, will deliver you just at the right time. At the right moment, He will come and rescue you from your tribulations and trials. You had to go through intense, difficult, and horrible trials because they were all designed and orchestrated for your good. You would not be who you are in Christ today if He had not allowed them all to happen.
He had to tear down the building you had constructed and the foundation you relied on. He needed to do this so that you would stand on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ—a foundation that will never be shaken and a structure that will never fall.
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, Ephesians 2:19-20
It may have seemed at the time that He had abandoned you to walk in the dark valley alone forever. You may have felt that you were in the miry pit of despair. But no matter the hardships and attacks from the devil, you were not destroyed but made even stronger than before. God’s wisdom know this had to happen. Remember, He was with you the whole time, never leaving or forsaking you, just as He promised.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. Psalm 40:2
You may not see it now or understand it. But if you trust God, He will prove that He had a great purpose and plan for all of it, molding you into His image and refining you through the fires of affliction. Like silver and gold are purified, God purified you from everything that would have held you back.
But He disciplines us for our good, that we may share His holiness. For the moment, all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:10-11
How else would you have turned to Him completely? How else would you have cried out to Him and put your complete faith and trust in Him in every situation? He allowed all of it for your growth and maturity, to prove your true loyalty to Him, and to show you His faithfulness. What a compassionate, wise, and gracious God we serve!
For the LORD has called you like a wife deserted and grieved in spirit, like a wife of youth when she is cast off, says your God. For a brief moment, I deserted you, but with great compassion, I will gather you. In overflowing anger, for a moment, I hid my face from you, but with everlasting love, I will have compassion on you,” says the LORD, your Redeemer. Isaiah 54:6-8
Yes, He was angry with you at one time, but because of His great love, mercy, and grace, He covered your sins. He washed and cleansed you pure with His blood. He has put them all behind Him, thrown them into the depths of the sea, never to be remembered again. Through His refining process, He caused your roots to be driven down deep into Him, firmly grounded, never to be shaken, never to fall again. But to boldly walk in the Spirit of the Lord to do His will.
Praise the Lord God Almighty and shout aloud His praises. Cry out with worship, praise, and rejoicing, for He has chosen you. He has loved you with everlasting love. Praise the Lord again; once you were a wreck, but now you have been built and strengthened like a mighty fortress standing strong upon the Lord.
You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me. “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation.” With joy, you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the peoples, proclaim that His name is exalted. “Sing praises to the Lord, for He has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Shout and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 12:1-6
