Take a minute and search your heart related to these questions. Do you love Jesus and everything that He promises to give you? What does your faith stand upon? Many who love Jesus or love the idea or concept of loving Him seek to receive everything good that He promises to those who believe. But not all who believe and love Jesus have committed their lives completely to the LORD. One major oversight will prevent you from receiving what He has promised.
Even more important than loving Jesus, God calls those who believe and love His Son to fear God in humble and reverent obedience to His commands.
Remember what Jesus said in John 14:15-17 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
You see, you must love God and obey what He has commanded. So, if you search your heart and ways and find that you still lie, cheat, steal, hate, and manipulate, you need to cry out to Him for forgiveness, and He will. He will change your heart, mind, and soul if you seek Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
His hands are open, and His grace and mercy are available to anyone who truly humbles themselves to believe, follow, and obey. It takes faith, struggle, and dedication, but it is worth it all.
Isaiah 65:1-7 I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name.
I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices; a people who provoke me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens and making offerings on bricks; who sit in tombs, and spend the night in secret places;
who eat pig’s flesh, and broth of tainted meat is in their vessels; who say, “Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am too holy for you.” These are a smoke in my nostrils, a fire that burns all the day. Behold, it is written before me: “I will not keep silent, but I will repay; I will indeed repay into their lap both your iniquities and your fathers’ iniquities together, says the LORD;
Acts 3:19-21 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.
