There comes a time in our lives things just get plain difficult. But if you are walking with the Lord, He is the one who allows it, for your good. He removes all the pleasantries and delicacies of life. He causes the struggle to be so very real and at times incredibly pressing. No one can truly understand what you are going through, looking from the outside, and who could expect them to. It is the struggle He designed just for you.
But just like it is written in scripture, all the Lord needs is a few fish and some bread to feed a multitude, all He needs is a scoop of oil and a hand full of flour to sustain His servant and refresh your soul. These things He continues to replenish day by day, although many times they seem to be almost gone. He reduces your hold, your grasp upon the things of this world, that you may have used to hold yourself up, depending upon them to keep your balance instead of leaning on the Father.
One finger at a time, He will peel off, until the very last one. Though it is frightening to completely give up your hold of what is tangible, He will remove that last one. Until there is nothing to hold onto except the Lord Jesus Himself.
Psalm 109:26-31 Help me, O Lord my God! Save me according to your steadfast love! Let them know that this is your hand; you, O Lord, have done it! Let them curse, but you will bless! They arise and are put to shame, but your servant will be glad! May my accusers be clothed with dishonor; may they be wrapped in their own shame as in a cloak!
With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord; I will praise Him in the midst of the throng. For He stands at the right hand of the needy one, to save him from those who condemn his soul to death.
You may have to stay in this desperate condition for a while. Clinging only to the Lord with all your might. Until you have come to realize you are completely safe and completely secure in the strength of His embrace. There is no need to worry or fear, He will never leave and never let you go.
He is the one in control and He is the one who cares for you. Even though you may not feel it all the time, He holds you securely. Though the provisions are slim, even to scraping the bottom of the barrel. He will continue to provide until the famine is over. As the Lord took care of Elijah, the widow, and her son from Zarephath.
1 Kings 17:14-16 For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.’” And she went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days. The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the Lord that He spoke by Elijah.
All He needs is a handful of flour that has no end. All He needs is a scoop full of oil that will sustain your soul. The day is coming, it is drawing near when He will burst open the flood gates and pour down the blessed rain from Heaven that you won’t be able to contain, to the one He has chosen. When that time comes it will not be early and it will not be late. But it will be right on time. Just as the Lord has declared, it will be.
Ezekiel 34:26-28 And I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing. And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land.
And they shall know that I am the Lord when I break the bars of their yoke and deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them. They shall no more be a prey to the nations, nor shall the beasts of the land devour them. They shall dwell securely, and none shall make them afraid.
Psalm 118:26-29 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We bless you from the house of the Lord. The Lord is God, and He has made His light to shine upon us. Bind the festal sacrifice with cords, up to the horns of the altar! You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will extol you. Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!

Thank you 🙏❤️
