From The Heart

If you are struggling with your health, body, or your psychological condition, before you go to change anything else, there is something you must do first. Your heart must be clean; this is vital because the condition of your heart will significantly affect how you live. I am not speaking of the muscle but your soul. Yet, the example of a weak heart would have the same effect on the body as a corrupt heart would have on your life. Jesus said, “what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person.”

My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those, who find them and healing to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:20-23

A clean heart will have a significant effect on the mind and body. Just like if you smash your toe, it will cause your whole body to ache, causing the stomach to turn and the heart to beat out of control. So likewise, when your heart is diseased with sin, heartache, and bitterness, it has a detrimental effect on the rest of your life. Jesus offers healing and forgiveness if you turn from sin and repent. Sin is what corrupts the soul and causes the crippling of the body. Jesus is the cure and will scrub you clean from the inside out if you turn to Him.

And Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled? But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, and slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.” Matthew 15:16-20

When you are cleansed from the inside out, through the forgiveness of Jesus Christ, you can put away the things you have held onto for so long. His power is that great. He created the heavens with a single word and can heal your heart by saying, “you are forgiven!” His love for you is so great He died for your sins so that you may be pure, clean, and healed from the damage of sin.

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me; bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagles. Psalm 103:1-5

Nothing is more refreshing than waking up to clean air, knowing that all your sins are no longer there. It is excellent to feel free, with no more burdens or despair. A heart no longer filled with sorrow galore from the sickness that kept you flat on the floor. When Jesus forgives, it is like wiping the slate clean; as the Spirit says, “there is no more condemnation seen.”

So give up your grip on sin and throw yourself at the mercy of a loving and compassionate savior. Jesus is the one who died for your sin, and it is Jesus who will flood your heart with love, joy, and peace. He is the one who will heal you from the soul of your feet to the crown of your head. Jesus heals the heart, mind, body, and soul because He is the great physician who loves you from the inside out.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might, He increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted, but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:28-31
